Pittsburgh were shut out, 4-0, by Ezra Runkle and the Cleveland Bears at Forge Field. The Vulcans offered little resistance to Runkle, who stopped them on 7 hits, fanned 1 and walked 1.

"It just felt right today," the right-handed Runkle told reporters after the win. "Even with the rain, it didn't throw me off my rhythm."
