 | September's Premier Batter Announced Friday, October 1st , 1886 Tommy Cate may be much younger than other hitters in the Eastern Association, but he performed like a seasoned veteran in September to win the Batter of the Month award. The 23-year-old Scranton center fielder hit .400 with no home runs, 14 RBIs and 10 runs scored. This season, Cate is batting .332 with 3 home runs. He has scored 61 runs and driven in 58. |   |
