 | Goodwin Grabs EA Top Pitcher Trophy Saturday, October 1st , 1887 The spotlight today is on Dan Goodwin of the Newark Smiths. The bullpen ace was named the top pitcher in the Eastern Association for September. Newark's star reliever held the opposition to a .207 average and put up no saves and 51 strikeouts in 83 innings with a 7-1 mark and a 1.63 ERA.
