Miller Hot, Planters Cold
Friday, August 10th , 1888
The Scranton Anthracites whipped the Providence Planters, 4-0, at Scranton Grounds behind a masterful outing from starter Scott Miller.

Miller shut out the Planters on 7 hits and no walks. He registered 5 strikeouts over 9 innings.

"Velocity felt good, everything felt good today," a smiling Miller said later. "Command felt good, conditions felt good, glove felt good, hat felt good. Seriously everything."

On his stats sheet for the year Miller shows a 12-13 record, 26 starts, 219.2 innings, 103 strikeouts and a 2.95 ERA.
