| Suber, Rivermen Shut Out Anthracites, 2-0 Wednesday, September 26th , 1888 Dicky Suber dominated the Scranton Anthracites with a brilliant 5-hit shutout in the 2-0 Troy Rivermen triumph at Scranton Grounds. The Troy hurler fanned 5 and walked 1 in the game and was singled out for praise afterward by the opposing manager.
"He really kept us in check today," Anthracites skipper said in postgame comments. "Everything looked to be moving. Seemed like the pitch was right down the middle and it went over down and away. We took some pathetic swings."
