Tommy Atkins collected yet another hit in the 8-2 Chicago Crows win over the Regulators at Meridian Grounds. The Chicago second baseman finished 2-for-4 in the game. During an extended batting practice session before the game, the famously hard-working Atkins had fielded questions from reporters about his hitting streak, which now sits at 20 games. "I'm not doing too much special," he said. "I'm well-prepared and I'm just trying to get the bat on the ball and put it in play." Tommy Atkins flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and walked in the 8th.
