 | Week's Outstanding Performer Announced Monday, August 29th , 1887 Ken Smithers of the Davenport Monitors reeled in the Corn Belt League Player of the Week Award with a solid pitching line last week. He compiled a 1.50 ERA in 18 innings, won 2, lost 0, fanned 3 and held hitters to a .242 batting average against him during the week. Thus far this season, Smithers has worked 261.1 innings with 56 strikeouts en route to a 11-20 record and a 4.20 ERA. |   |
