| Stancil Fashions Shutout Against Sioux City Monday, September 12th , 1887 Russ Stancil shut down the Sioux City Grainmen, blanking them, 1-0, on 7 hits, ringing up no strikeouts and allowing 1 walk. The Kansas City Prairie Dogs pitcher appeared to get stronger as the game went on.
"I don't know if I was getting any stronger," Stancil said after the game. "I feel like my mechanics were getting better. I was able to make some adjustments and get a little more comfortable out there."
