 | Burroughs Shuts Out Sioux City, 4-0 Monday, August 6th , 1888 Warren Burroughs really had his stuff working at LeClaire Grounds. The Davenport Monitors hurler mystified the Sioux City Grainmen, shutting them out, 4-0. Burroughs allowed a total of 3 hits in the ballgame and struck out 3. "The shutout is nice, but I'm just happy we won," Burroughs said with a smile after the game. "Coach can be a real bear when we lose." So far this year, Burroughs has 21 wins and 12 losses and a 2.71 ERA. |   |
