The Louisville Colts got a good effort from starter Kip Hereford in defeating the Washington Federals at Derby Grounds. The final score was 4-2. The Federals, now 6-12, continue their slow start.

The Federals had their hands full with Hereford, who overpowered Washington hitters while racking up 11 strikeouts.

After the game, Louisville manager applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
