Boston Brahmins starter Woody Ross turned in a sterling performance against the St. Louis Pioneers, leading his team to a slim, 3-2 win in 10 innings. Boston is now 52-33, while St. Louis is 48-35.

The Brahmins got a clutch hit from catcher Bob Marshall. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to right, to win the game for the Brahmins.

"That game was intense," Ross said.
