Bells Down Brahmins, 5-3
The Philadelphia Bells clipped the Boston Brahmins, 5-3, in 10 innings at Brahmins Grounds. The standout performance belonged to Philadelphia pitcher and New Middletown, Indiana, native Nathan Hutchings. At 45-38, the Bells claim third place in the National Alliance.

Philadelphia used the timely hitting of Steve Gould to seize the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Bells on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Winning is the only objective," said Hutchings after the game.
