Late Offense Lifts New York to 6-5 Victory
The New York Barons picked up a win at Columbia Field, taking down the Louisville Colts, 6-5. Starting pitcher Jack McKinley was a big reason why. McKinley, now 19-31, was the winner. In 10 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 4, walking 6, and allowing 5 runs. New York is now 52-63, Louisville 68-45.

The Barons got a clutch hit from shortstop Dave Claiborne. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Barons.

"That game was intense," Claiborne said.
