Barons Raise Rally Flag, Beat Indianapolis, 7-4
No one was more impactful than Virgil Arwood in the 7-4 New York win over Indianapolis. Arwood, who led the FL in wins above replacement with 5.6 in 1885, was 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Indianapolis drops to 9-14.

Arwood had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 2-1 sinker from Doc Burbank, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Barons a 6-4 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Arwood.

"If it's down the middle," said Arwood, "you might as well hit it."
