7-4 Triumph Runs Colts Streak to 7 Games
The Louisville Colts picked up a win at Capitol Park, knocking off the Washington Federals, 7-4. Starting pitcher Ed Lane played a key role in the triumph. Lane yielded 4 runs over 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 1, and struck out 2. His record improves to 6-3. For the Federals, the loss makes their record 7-14.

Louisville used a clutch at-bat from Sam Day to capture the win. The second baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Colts ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"It's nice to get the results when you're feeling good and throwing the ball well," said Lane after the game.
