The Detroit Sturgeons picked up a win at Garrison Grounds, taking down the Chicago Cyclones, 10-2. Starting pitcher Bill Poole was a big reason why. Poole yielded 2 runs over 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 4, and struck out 5. His record improves to 28-9.

The Sturgeons benefited from a costly error in the top of the first. With Harry Ransom at bat and Detroit leading 1-0, the Chicago miscue allowed Detroit to plate 1 and take the lead, 2-0.

"I pretty much put my pitches where I wanted to," said Poole.

The second-place Sturgeons now sit at 58-33.
