| Poole Records Shutout Against Federals | In a seemingly effortless performance, Bill Poole of the Detroit Sturgeons shot down the Washington Federals, 4-0, on 1 hit.
"Bill was just locating so well and using his pitches," Detroit manager said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."
Poole recorded 5 strikeouts and 1 walk in a strong outing.
"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Washington manager said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."
