The Louisville Colts topped the Detroit Sturgeons, 5-4, in Federal League action at Riverside Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Louisville pitcher Sam Barnhill. It could have been a different outcome for Louisville, had it not been for Hick Rogers, the 30-year old center fielder . Rogers contributed a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put Louisville up, 4-0.

Rogers said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."

The Colts, at 74-47, sit in first place in the Federal League.
