The Boston Brahmins knocked off the Kansas City Prairie Dogs, 5-2, in International Association action at Carver Grounds. Boston pitcher and Gadsden, Alabama, native Tom Hagood had an outstanding performance. Today's win puts Boston at 46-42, while Kansas City falls to 31-61.

Jeff Longley, who is tied for 10th in the IA with a .368 on-base percentage, aided the Boston cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth. For the game, the center fielder was 2-5 with a triple.

Longley said his team "played with focus and determination."
