The New York Barons beat the Pittsburgh Vulcans, 6-5, at Columbia Field. The win was due in part to left fielder Jefferson McMillen, who went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Jack McKinley picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-0. He struck out 1 in 9 innings. The Barons, now 3-1, have been playing some good baseball.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With one out, McMillen hit a changeup from Andy Christenson for a run-scoring single. The Barons, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"The fans went nuts at the end," McMillen said.
