| Vulcans Get Clutch Win, 3-2 | The Pittsburgh Vulcans picked up a win at Vulcan Grounds, knocking off the Louisville Colts, 3-2. On the mound for Pittsburgh was left-hander Stanley Lamb. He played a key role in the triumph. Lamb yielded 2 runs over 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 0, and struck out 5. His record improves to 30-21. With the win, Pittsburgh raised its record to 64-59.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, an error by the Colts allowed the Vulcans to score the winning run.
"This one wasn't over until it was over," Clay said, postgame.
