Win Goes to Brahmins in Tight Contest
The Boston Brahmins and Baltimore Bannermen played an entertaining game for Brahmins Grounds patrons.

The Boston Brahmins trumped the Baltimore Bannermen, 5-4, at Brahmins Grounds. Boston catcher John Hagan was terrific. He went 3-3 with a triple, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Boston is now 58-71, Baltimore 67-64.

The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Pete Applegate came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Baltimore pitcher Hugh Brigand, he hit a 1-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Boston on top, 5-4.

"Winning is the only objective," said Applegate after the game.
