The Montreal Tigers topped the Toronto Provincials, 9-3, in International Association action at St. Gabriel Grounds II. The game was highlighted by the performance of Montreal third baseman Crab Shelton. Joe Henry, the winner, goes to 37-19. He allowed 3 runs on 8 hits, with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts over 9 innings. Shelton contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Montreal in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Shelton took a knuckleball from Glen Nalley and stroked the home run to left. His 7th home run of the season allowed the Tigers to leap in front, 2-1.
