The Toronto Provincials locked up a win at Garrison Common Grounds, knocking off the Cleveland Clippers, 5-3. On the mound for Toronto was right-hander Henry Clancy. He played a major role in the triumph. Toronto is in third place in the International Association with a record of 71-67.

Toronto second baseman Frank Beauregard contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 126th hit of the season and put the Provincials ahead, 4-2.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Beauregard.
