Late Offense Lifts Indianapolis to 6-5 Victory
The New York Barons and Indianapolis Westerners provided some drama for the home crowd.

New York got a decent performance from pitcher Ted Carson, but it wasn't enough to beat the Indianapolis Westerners. Indianapolis won the Columbia Field contest, 6-5. Carson threw 9.0 innings allowing 6 runs for the losing team. Doc Burbank earned the win, while 23-year old right-handed pitcher Ted Carson took the loss for New York.

With two out in the top of the ninth, Ken McDowell had a game-changing hit. The Westerners center fielder slammed a 2-run single off Ted Carson, making the score 6-5, Indianapolis.

Indianapolis manager was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard," he said.

Indianapolis is now 61-65.
