Toronto pitcher Fred Brody had a large part in his team subduing the Montreal Tigers, 13-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. With the win, Toronto lifts its record to 7-6.

Though there was little doubt about Toronto's eventual triumph, right fielder Merritt Hunter made a particularly significant contribution in the bottom of the third inning when he hit a run-scoring single off John Babbitt. Hunter was 2 for 5 with a double and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2.
