| Westerners Rally For 3-2 Win | The Indianapolis Westerners gave their fans something to talk about with a thrilling, walk-off win.
In a low-scoring contest between the Indianapolis Westerners and the New York Barons, Bill McDonald, who is on pace to win 19 games this season, proved to be the difference. The Indianapolis right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Westerners win. McDonald, now 13-13, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 2, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs.
Indianapolis got a clutch hit from Karl Eicher. The catcher launched a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.
"When I go out there," said McDonald, "the last thing I want to do is let my teammates down."
Indianapolis, at 35-60, sits in last place in the Federal League.
