| Colts Stick Cyclones with 8-2 Loss | The Louisville Colts picked up a win at Garrison Grounds, taking down the Chicago Cyclones, 8-2. Starting pitcher Ed Lane was a big reason why. Lane yielded 2 runs over 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 2, and struck out 2. His record improves to 10-6. The Colts move to 79-55 with the win, while the Cyclones drop to 67-66.
With Louisville leading 1-0 in the top of the second, Lane hit a 2-run single off Chicago hurler Pat O'Loughlin. It was the 7th hit of the season for Lane and put his team ahead, 3-0.
"The division is still up for grabs, but I like our chances," Lane told the Louisville Bulletin. | | | | |
