Pilots Zap Provincials, 3-1
In a low-scoring contest between the St. Louis Pilots and the Toronto Provincials, 32-year old right-handed pitcher Nate Shine proved to be the difference. The St. Louis right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-1 Pilots win. With the win, St. Louis raised its record to 74-39.

In the bottom of the third inning of a 1-1 tie, St. Louis shortstop Jasper Hines reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run. It broke the deadlock and put St. Louis on top, 2-1.

"I felt good out of the gates," said Shine.
