Thomas Goss, who finished 2nd in the FL in strikeouts with 249 in 1885, had a strong outing for the Philadelphia Unions against the New York Barons at Girard Grounds II. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-1 win. After today's action, Philadelphia sits at 41-56, while New York falls to 40-60.
