Indianapolis Tacks 7-4 Loss on Washington
Tom Woods had a big hand in the 7-4 Indianapolis triumph over Washington. He rattled off 3 hits in 5 at-bats, scoring 2 times and knocking in 4 runs. The 6th-place Westerners bumped their record to 66-67.

Indianapolis took a 6-3 lead on Woods's 10th double of the season. The 2-run double, which he hit off Ronald Langford in the top of the seventh, propelled Indianapolis to the win.

Woods told a local reporter: "My job is to go out and play as hard as I can."
