At Capitol Park, the Washington Federals and Indianapolis Westerners were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

Will Wessels batted in 4 runs to lead Indianapolis to a win over Washington. The final score was 12-5. Wessels chipped in 1 single and 1 home run. Indianapolis pitcher Wilton Strickland earned the win, hiking his record to 28-17. Norm Schmitt suffered the loss.

Indianapolis used a clutch at-bat from Marty Teets to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Westerners ahead, 7-3. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"We lit up the scoreboard," said Indianapolis manager .

Indianapolis's record now stands at 67-67, placing them 6th in the Federal League.
