Federals Suffer 6-3 Road Loss
The Philadelphia Unions knocked off the Washington Federals, 6-3, in Federal League action at Girard Grounds II. Philadelphia pitcher and Portland, Maine, native Thomas Goss had an outstanding performance. The 5th-place Unions hiked their record to 44-59.

Philadelphia took a 4-3 lead on John Casey's 9th triple of the season. The 2-run triple, which Casey hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Washington pitcher Ronald Langford visibly frustrated.

"No disrespect to the other team," said Philadelphia manager . "But it's nice to get an easy win."
