Bannermen Lay Egg, Lose 16-2 to Cincinnati
The Cincinnati Monarchs pasted the Baltimore Bannermen with a convincing 16-2 defeat at Queen City Grounds II. Will Bowling was a prime factor in the Cincinnati win. He was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. With the victory, the Monarchs record stands at 64-50.

The Monarchs got a big hit from center fielder Thaddeus Harlan. Facing Baltimore pitcher Bill Bartholomew in the bottom of the sixth, Harlan pounded a bases-clearing double to right-center. His 27th double of the season put the Monarchs ahead, 15-2.

"That's what I call an offensive explosion," said Bowling after the game.
