| Prairie Dogs Blanked by Slake | Cincinnati Monarchs hurler Ashton Slake was stingy with runs in his latest outing against the Kansas City Prairie Dogs, shutting them out, 2-0, on 4 hits.
"Ashton was very aggressive tonight," Cincinnati manager said. "He threw everything he had with a lot of confidence."
Through 9 innings, Slake tallied 11 strikeouts and allowed 1 walk.
"He was throwing strikes with all his pitches and mixing it up well," losing manager said. "Slake has a sneaky fastball, and whatever that off-speed pitch was, it was keeping our timing off."
This year, Slake has a 28-16 record with a 1.97 ERA. | | | | |
