Pittsburgh left fielder Joe August was instrumental in helping the Vulcans triumph, 9-8, over the Boston Minutemen. August was 3-5 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. With the win, Pittsburgh goes to 38-45, while the Minutemen fall to 23-61.

With Pittsburgh leading 8-7 in the top of the eighth, August came up to bat against Boston pitcher Roy Kane. August hit a curveball to center for a run-scoring double. His 10th double of the season put the Vulcans on top, 9-7.

"What a game," said August. "We needed every last run."
