Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Kermit Nelson? The 30-year old shortstop Nelson stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put Indianapolis up, 3-2. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.

"We put it together and came out with the win," Nelson said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
