Scott, who led the IA in wins with 29 in 1882, went the distance for Washington. He gave up no runs on 6 hits. Washington, at 29-60, holds down 11th place in the International Association.
The Legislators got a clutch hit from catcher Clarence Carter. In the bottom of the 13th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Legislators.
