| Burbank Leads Indianapolis Past Washington | Spirited fans greeted the Washington Federals for their clash with the Indianapolis Westerners.
Washington had no answer for Indianapolis Westerners starter Doc Burbank, who flummoxed Federals hitters as the Westerners cruised to victory, 6-1. With the win over Washington, the Westerners improved to 14-18.
Burbank dominated for Indianapolis, raising his record to 4-8. Washington hitters had few good at-bats against the right-hander, who scattered 4 hits over 9 innings while striking out 4.
"Like I've always said, I'm the straw that stirs the drink," Burbank said (again). | | | | |
