| Tigers Beat Pilots, 8-3 | The Montreal Tigers reigned over the St. Louis Pilots in damp conditions.
Montreal pitcher Stu Archibald had a large part in his team beating the St. Louis Pilots, 8-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Archibald got the win, improving to 20-18. He gave up 6 hits and walked 2 over 9 innings. He allowed 3 runs.
Montreal center fielder Buster Brown contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a changeup to left field for a 2-run single. It was his 119th hit of the season and put the Tigers ahead, 3-1.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Brown.
The 'W' lifts Montreal's record to 69-52.
