| Federals Win Squeaker, 3-2, Over Westerners | Washington Federals starter Ronald Langford pitched a strong game against the Indianapolis Westerners at Capitol Park, leading the Federals to victory, 3-2. Washington, with the win, climbs to 10-23.
Marty Stephenson drove in one run for Washington. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the eighth inning, Stephenson, who is on pace for 45 RBI this season, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Indianapolis hurler Doc Burbank, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Federals a 3-2 lead.
