Cyclones Win with Late Rally
St. Louis got a terrific game from first baseman Jerry Clay. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Chicago, 5-4, in 11 innings. Clay was 4 for 5 with 4 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Victor Anderson, who is tied for 5th in the FL with a 5.4 K/9 rate, was the winner in relief. His record is now 18-7. The losing pitcher was Dan Hicks. The first-place Cyclones have won 10 in a row.

Herbert Davis helped out the Chicago cause in the top of the ninth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the pinch hitter went 1 for 1.

"We'll keep riding this wave," said Davis.
