Westerners Get Hard-Earned Win, Stop Cyclones, 4-3
Victor Anderson pitched well, but his team, the Chicago Cyclones, still dropped a 4-3 decision to the Indianapolis Westerners at Garrison Grounds. Wilton Strickland earned the win. Victor Anderson, who is tied for 6th in the FL in complete games with 13, took the loss for Chicago. The Westerners saw their record improve to 18-20.

Stan Violette had a direct impact on the outcome. Violette contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning to put Indianapolis up, 4-3.

Violette called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
