Provincials Come Up Short at St. Louis, 3-2 | The St. Louis Pilots rode a solid performance from 23-year-old starting pitcher Bill Silvers to a win, beating the Toronto Provincials, 3-2, at Fuchs Park. The triumph makes St. Louis 5-16.
St. Louis right fielder Jim Durr helped the Pilots go up, 2-1, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Durr hit a run-scoring single off Toronto pitcher Norm Woods.
