| Prairie Dogs Lose Contest, 4-3 | The St. Louis Pilots knocked off the Kansas City Prairie Dogs, 4-3, in International Association action at Carver Grounds. St. Louis pitcher and Lonaconing, Maryland, native Bulldog Ayers had an outstanding performance. Ayers yielded 3 runs over 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 5, and struck out 2. His record improves to 31-16. After today's action, St. Louis sits at 80-53; Kansas City slips to 50-85.
With St. Louis trailing 3-2 in the top of the third, Ayers hit a curveball from Tom Child for a 2-run triple. It was his 10th triple of the season and put the Pilots ahead, 4-3.
