The Toronto Provincials did just enough to sneak past the Boston Brahmins, 5-4, at Garrison Common Grounds. Toronto pitcher Henry Clancy, in particular, had a standout performance. Clancy got the win, improving to 24-15. He gave up 7 hits and walked 2 over 9 innings. He allowed 4 runs. The Provincials now have a record of 74-59 with the win over Boston.

Clancy broke a deadlock in the bottom of the seventh inning, when he hit a run-scoring single, putting Toronto up, 5-4.

"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Clancy.
