Indianapolis took a 4-3 lead on Kermit Nelson's 5th triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which Nelson hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Detroit pitcher Martin Bird visibly frustrated.

"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Strickland said.
