The Washington Federals did just enough to sneak past the Chicago Cyclones, 3-2, at Garrison Grounds. Washington pitcher Ronald Langford, in particular, had a standout performance. The Federals go to 16-33 with the win.

Langford broke a deadlock in the top of the sixth inning, when he drew a walk, driving in 1 run, putting Washington up, 3-2.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Washington manager .
