| Lucier Casts Spell Over New York, as Cyclones Win | Jim Lucier dominated the New York Barons with a brilliant 3-hit shutout in the 4-0 Chicago Cyclones triumph at Columbia Field. The Chicago hurler fanned 6 and walked 4 in the game and was singled out for praise afterward by the opposing manager.
"He really kept us in check today," Barons skipper said in postgame comments. "Everything looked to be moving. Seemed like the pitch was right down the middle and it went over down and away. We took some pathetic swings."
On the year, Lucier has compiled a 13-6 mark with a 2.45 ERA. | | | | |
