| Lamb Baffles Washington Batters | Stanley Lamb pitched a strong game at Vulcan Grounds, blanking the Washington Federals, 10-0. Lamb, who finished 4th in the IA in wins with 25 in 1885, allowed no runs on 7 hits, totaled 5 strikeouts and gave up no walks.
Pittsburgh manager said he could tell immediately it was going to be a good game for Lamb.
"Right from the start, you could see how economical he was," said. "He threw a lot of strikes."
